Mineral Development Assistant
Wabun Tribal Council
Working under the supervision of the Executive Director, this position supports communities when mineral exploration activities may affect their rights and traditional territories. The successful candidate will assist with technical reviews, communication, mapping support, and coordination related to resource development.
Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate meetings and administrative tasks on behalf of member First Nations
- Liaise with the Ministry of Mines, industry stakeholders, and third-party organizations
- Assist communities in reviewing Mineral Exploration Plans and Permits
- Provide technical support and guidance related to early-stage exploration activity
- Support community capacity building across stages of the mining sequence
- Use ArcGIS software to develop mapping products and services
- Help organize and share resource development opportunities within and between Wabun Tribal Council First Nations
Qualifications

- Post-secondary education or experience in Environmental Studies, Natural Resources, Mining, GIS, Indigenous Studies, or a related field
- Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered
- Experience working with First Nation communities, Indigenous organizations, or in resource development is an asset
- Proficiency with ArcGIS or other GIS mapping software
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and related administrative software
- Strong organizational, coordination, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s licence
