Health & Social Services Manager
Beaverhouse First Nation
Working in alignment with the Mission Statement of the Beaverhouse First Nation Band Office, the successful candidate will play a leadership role in strengthening community health initiatives, supervising departmental staff, and ensuring compliance with funding and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain a culturally safe, positive, and enriching environment for clients and families.

Lead the development and implementation of community health and wellness initiatives.

Provide recommendations for health department and Band policies for review and approval.
-
Supervise day-to-day operations and ensure staff adherence to HR policies and procedures.
-
Support staff in achieving departmental objectives.
-
Initiate and support investigations related to complaints in collaboration with the Band Manager.
-
Assign and monitor program tasks and event calendars.
-
Maintain strict confidentiality of client and employee information.
-
Develop and research health-related programs to meet community needs.
-
Oversee health and social services budget reporting.
-
Research funding opportunities and liaise with external partners and agencies.
-
Ensure compliance with reporting procedures outlined in funding agreements.
-
Participate in interviewing, hiring, orientation, and staff training.
-
Coordinate and attend regular case management and staff meetings.
-
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
-
-
Degree or diploma in Business Administration, Health Services, or a related combination of education and supervisory experience.
-
Knowledge of ISC regulations, funding processes, and Federal/Provincial regulations relating to First Nations.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Save the Date – Ottawa Rally on Parliament
Wednesday, September 20, 2023 – As you may know the Chiefs of Ontario will be having a rally held in Ottawa on September 20, 2023 for First Nations Opposition to the Passing of Bill C-53. We would like to extend the invitation to all Chief & Council as well as community members that would like to attend.
