Drillers / Driller’s Assistants
Boart Longyear and Wahneka Drilling
Boart Longyear and Wahneka Drilling are currently recruiting Drillers / Driller’s Assistants to join their team at the Agnico Eagle Macassa site in Kirkland Lake, Ontario and the Alamos site in Matachewan, Ontario.
This is a strong opportunity for individuals who are ready for physically demanding work, interested in drilling operations, and committed to working safely in a team environment. Experience is considered an asset, but this is also described as a training position for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities

- Support drilling operations and follow all safety policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Handle rods, drilling tools, samples, and drilling fluids
- Assist with housekeeping, basic maintenance, pre-start checks, and inventory logs
- Help maintain equipment, tools, and a safe work environment
- Carry out basic measurements, calculations, and operator maintenance
- Complete daily drill reports and other operating records accurately
- Work under the direction of a Driller, Drilling Field Supervisor, or Division Manager
- May be required to operate support equipment such as vehicles, forklifts, skidders, cranes, telehandlers, and other site equipment
- Contribute to a positive workplace and support training, instruction, and mentoring when required
Qualifications

- Physically fit for work and able to meet Fitness for Duty program standards
- Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
- Sufficient language, literacy, and numeracy skills to perform job-related tasks
- Labour background considered an asset
- Drilling experience considered an asset, but not required
- Exposure to different drilling environments and techniques is preferred
- Valid First Aid Certificate considered an asset
- Common Core certification considered an asset

If such a mixed-ancestry community is found to have existed, its characteristics are to be described.
