Boart Longyear and Wahneka Drilling

Boart Longyear and Wahneka Drilling are currently recruiting Drillers / Driller’s Assistants to join their team at the Agnico Eagle Macassa site in Kirkland Lake, Ontario and the Alamos site in Matachewan, Ontario.

This is a strong opportunity for individuals who are ready for physically demanding work, interested in drilling operations, and committed to working safely in a team environment. Experience is considered an asset, but this is also described as a training position for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

    • Support drilling operations and follow all safety policies, procedures, and legal requirements
    • Handle rods, drilling tools, samples, and drilling fluids
    • Assist with housekeeping, basic maintenance, pre-start checks, and inventory logs
    • Help maintain equipment, tools, and a safe work environment
    • Carry out basic measurements, calculations, and operator maintenance
    • Complete daily drill reports and other operating records accurately
    • Work under the direction of a Driller, Drilling Field Supervisor, or Division Manager
    • May be required to operate support equipment such as vehicles, forklifts, skidders, cranes, telehandlers, and other site equipment
    • Contribute to a positive workplace and support training, instruction, and mentoring when required

Qualifications

    • Physically fit for work and able to meet Fitness for Duty program standards
    • Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
    • Sufficient language, literacy, and numeracy skills to perform job-related tasks
    • Labour background considered an asset
    • Drilling experience considered an asset, but not required
    • Exposure to different drilling environments and techniques is preferred
    • Valid First Aid Certificate considered an asset
    • Common Core certification considered an asset
