Human Resource Manager

Wabun Tribal Council
Wabun Tribal Council is seeking a Human Resource Manager to support Wabun and its six member First Nations communities.

Reporting to the Executive Director, this role provides human resources support across core areas of organizational and community operations. This posting is best suited to a candidate with HR experience, strong professional judgment, and experience working with Indigenous organizations or First Nations communities.

Key Responsibilities

    • Provide day-to-day human resources support
    • Assist with recruitment, hiring, and onboarding
    • Support employee relations and performance management processes
    • Help develop and review HR policies and procedures
    • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation and internal policies
    • Coordinate staff training and development initiatives
    • Travel to member communities as required

Qualifications

    • Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
    • Experience working in Indigenous organizations or with First Nations communities
    • Knowledge of HR practices and employment legislation
    • Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills
    • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
    • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel
