IBA Coordinator

(Temporary Contract Position)

Matachewan First Nation

Under the direct supervision of the Band Manager, the IBA (Impact Benefit Agreement) Coordinator is responsible for working in collaboration with Alamos (Joint Management Committee) to achieve progress on the various elements of the Impact Benefit Agreement.

Qualifications:

    • Minimum high school diploma, college or university preferred
    • Awareness/knowledge of mining agreements/negotiations
    • Knowledge of Matachewan First Nation Aboriginal culture, practices and history

Duties:

    • Maintain established Joint Management Committee including identifying representatives from Alamos and MFN
    • Assist Alamos in ensuring that the provisions of the agreement are observed and assist with resolving any disputes that may arise in connection with the agreement
    • Ensure that MFN receives maximum benefits as a whole and for individual members including access to training and employment opportunities and support of social, cultural and community services
